Sharon Stone recieved the Roy London Award at the amfAR Aids event for her tireless efforts and steadfast commitment to the fight against AIDS. Stone’s friend and acting coach, died of AIDS in the early 1990s, and it was his death that provided her with the inspiration to dedicate so much of her time and energy over the past 11 years to amfAR as the Chairman of the Campaign for AIDS Research. Beyonce was among many who presented the awards, including Richard Gere and Woody Allen. There was also a performance by Tracy Chapman. Due to serious nature of the event it seemed somewhat wrong to mention how tired Sharon was looking and how I hoped that wasn't real fur she was wearing - woops looks like i just did.
