U2 front man Bono has received and honorary knighthood. He was named a Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire but don't call him "sir!"

Bono, who is Irish, is not given the title of "Sir" as it is only reserved for those that are citizens of the United Kingdom or British Commonwealth and Ireland left the Commonwealth in 1949 (who said you didn't learn anything on this blog?).
