Help Save Knut!
8:09 Tuesday, March 20, 2007
Little Dannielynn is not the only baby causing a lot of drama this month. This is a little German polar bear called Knut, who was born in the Berlin Zoo on December 5th, 2006 and has been raised by surrogate father Thomas Dörflein after his mother rejected him.
Some so-called Animal Rights activists have called for the polar bear to be'put to sleep' because he is being raised by humans instead of along for nature to take its course. The zoo decided that the best thing to do was to intervene after Knut's brother died when she rejected them both.
What is wrong with these people?? They give Animal Rights Activists a bad name! Polar bears are going back on the endangered list thanks to the way we have screwed up the climate! Knut should be kept in the zoo to teach us about impact we have on the environment and Knut may be needed to keep the species from becoming extinct if our abuse of the environment carries on the way it is now. Yeah I carbon offset - I'm not completely evil.
Thankfully thousands of people including children protested at the zoo causing the zoo-director to promise not to kill Knut. Now everybody is waiting for Knut's first public appearance. Those of you who can't hop over to the Fatherland for that can enjoy Knut's blog instead - no word on whether the technology minded little fella has signed up for People Paparazzi yet!
More pics of Knut after the jump!

You don't need to 'help SAVE Knut' because nothing bad is going to happen to Knut.
I think it is aweful that someone would want this little bear killed. If a human mother were to abandone her baby, it would be raised by someone who loved it and provided the best possible care, not put to death. Just because this is an animal does not mean it doesn't deserve a chance at life. It is not his fault. How could anyone look at this beautiful animal and not see the miracle I see?
He is soooooooooo gorgeous!! he was born on my bday!! i so want him, he's so fuckin adorable!!!
Trust me...no one in their right mind would dream of hurting this cutie now that the word's out!!
LONG LIVE KNUT!!!
I don't get a lot of "animal rights" people. So are they trying to help & save animals... or kill them? This is a fine example. How bout' pit bull pups? They should be called animal killer activists... wtf?
