Debra Opri has responded to the itemized legal bill submitted to Larry Birkhead, releasing this statement:
"One can only imagine from whom and for what purposes these stories were started. I cannot comment on unauthenticated documents which were disseminated to the media under suspicious circumstances, and which are covered by the attorney-client privilege. I can assure you, however, that all of the fees and expenses incurred on behalf of Mr. Birkhead were reasonable, necessary, and appropriate, given the complexity and magnitude of this very high profile case that was litigated in two different states and a foreign country. Out of respect for Mr. Birkhead, I cannot comment further at this time."What do you guys think is going on?
She leaked those documents herself. Trying to stay in the news because Larry fired her ass for whatever reason and now her time being in front of the camera's is over. But of course she's not gonna admit to it. Attention Whore much Debra?
She is a publicity hound and made it appear from the beginning that she was doing this work pro-bono.
The fact that he has to pay for all of her grandstanding and press conferences and the funeral is plain dumb.
That poor man (Birkhead) keeps getting screwed by the U.S. legal system. This case should have all been taken care of 6 months ago when the bill would have been $20k.
Lawyers suck.

Sounds like to me that she is upset that this thievery was leaked to the press. She was supposed to be doing this for free and now she's P.O.'d that she was fired and submitted this outragious bill for revenge. Now she's trying to cover her butt!
Unauthenticated documents…my butt! When will those LA lawyers learn, the public will not put up with them anymore? Remember Mark Geragos anyone? They should try their cases in a court of law and not in the public.

I'm watching almost all of this on CourtTv, I haven't heard anyone say anything about Opri doing this case for free. Site your sources please.
Also from what was said on CourtTV, Opri resigned, now Birkhead maybe WAS going to fire her, but she resigned first. Also why would she bill out of spite if she was fired? People change lawyers all the time, he owes the bill. And he's more than likely the one who gave it to TMZ.
