Mischa and her dog flee the UK

Spokesmodel Mischa Barton is on her back from London. She hopped on a flight from Heathrow Airport with her dog 'Charlie,' who she referred to as her "boyfiend." "My dog is always my boyfriend. Charlie is the best - I got him when I broke up with Brandon Davis." Not only are times tough in the work department for Mischa but in the love department as well. Homegirl needs a sex-tape "leaked" or a stint in rehab to get her life back on track. More pics after the jump!

It's so unfair that stars get such preferential treatment. I was absolutely not allowed to take my dog on the plane to London because of the rabies laws. I guess they know the right palms to grease.

I wonder where she's off to now. She's outside Terminal 2 at Heathrow Airport, which is for flights to Europe. If she was going on a direct flight back to the USA the dog wouldn't be allowed to travel in a soft pet carrier like the one she's carrying.

BTW, LC, Mischa's not getting preferential treatment. If you've got the right documents and veterinary certificates, etc, you can travel with your dog between the UK, EU and USA.

She IS getting special treatment for her dog...even with the proper documents the dog is never allowed to travel with you in the passenger compartment even if it is small enough...(When travelling to and from the usa and uk) I have done this many times, the dog also has to go through clearance and it takes hours..you never see dogs in terminals at heathrow..they are at a special animal reception centre! so there. stars suck for the most part and this one especially...

Rachel, I'd agree about special treatment if Mischa was checking in for a flight directly from the UK to the US. And obviously the dog should have been processed in the normal way when it arrived in the UK. But you can't fly directly to the States from the terminal Mischa's at, so she's obviously going somewhere in Europe first. If she flies back to the US from another European airport, there are plenty of airlines who'll accept the dog as cabin baggage.

It would be so much easier to get a direct flight and put the animal in the hold, so it says a lot for Mischa as an animal lover if she'd rather go through the inconvenience of a connecting flight just so she can keep her pet with her.

She rents or borrows a new dog in every city, for photo ops. This is NOT the same dog she had in NY 3 weeks ago, and not the same dog she has in LA. And the names of the "dog" change as well.
