The face of murder

Cho-Seung-Huim mailed a shocking multi-media package to NBC studies detailing his rampage and intentions with pictures similar to one above and video of him ranting against Christianity and the wealthy.
Cho, who killed 32 people on the campus of Virginia Tech before turning the gun on himself, mailed the sickening package to NBC studios in New York an hour and 45 minutes after killing two people at West Ambler Johnston residence hall and shortly before entering Norris Hall where he killed 30 more people.
In the package were 23 Quicktime files of Cho speaking directly into the camera signifying that he had been planning this massacre for sometime along with photos of Cho in different locations holding the handguns presumed to be used in the murders, a knife and hollow point bullets.
Probably the most chilling photo I have ever seen.
HEY! HEY! I come here to -get away- from these types of pictures.
:(
i wonder, does it help to give him the attention he wanted? i mean, not just splash, but i mean all the media outlets....
what gets me is i read that a judge said he was a potential risk to himself and others in 2005 and yet they couldn't hold him or force him to get treatment!!!
mental health lobbiest and the NRA are causing seriously disturbed people to be able to get guns and murder innocent people. now i know that 50 years ago mentally ill people were treated horribly and things had to change in that field and it did; but now you have people who cannot tell reality from fantasy (violent fantasy) being allowed out in the general public and it's up to the mentally ill person if they want to take their medication or not---even when the difference could mean innocent people would be in danger, and the person themselves.
my point is, there are people who show many many signs and are sometimes even pegged by judges, mental health professionals, etc as potentially dangerous but the laws do not let them do anything about it until someone is harmed...well it's too late now...
not to mention it is too easy to get a gun in this country! i wish we had the gun laws that the UK has...
sorry about the rant....
I agree Tia...well said!
We have very strict gun laws here in Ireland too. Something really needs to be done about guns in the USA. I heard on the news that 1 in 3 American's have guns, that is crazy. And I heard that 84 people are killed in the US every day by guns. Crazy. Bush needs to do something fast. Violence in America is getting out of control.
This is sad but, people are not surprised when they hear about high school/college shootings in America now. People around the world are used to the crazy things that happen in America. Like I said, Bush needs to do something.
Just sick person..but once again the community did not watch out not understanding or under estimating the coming danger!

The patient rights laws were put in place in the 1960's in the US to protect the mentally ill while in facilities. Unfortunately, at the same time, the reasons for commitment to a facility changed as well. Unless a person is harming himself or others, they cannot hold said person. Ironically, the very rights drawn up to protect the mentally ill, made it harder for them to get help. Most end up in jail or prison...how that is better than a psych. hospital I don't have any idea...
The other issue in the US is funding for programs/treatment for the mentally ill. Many may recall that in that through-out the 1970s, 80s and 90s, mental hospitals were all but shut down and the push to get the mentally ill integrated into the community was on. That is when, in cities like Chicago, you began to see very ill people wandering around the city, standing in the middle of Michigan Ave...
All this media about the whole situation, but I NEVER once heard anyone talk about how easy it was for a guy who had a bad psyche assessment to buy a guy?? I know in the US its almost a 'right' to have a gun, but come on, maybe its time to reconsider.
