Claire Danes Bombs In 'Pygmalion'
4:42 Friday, October 19, 2007
I thought this day couldn't get any better after creepy street performer David Copperfield was accused of rape and the FBI raided his warehouse but much arch-nemesis Claire Danes received terrible reviews for her performance as Eliza Doolittle in "Pygmalion."
unbiased untrained eye may look at those reviews and go "Hey Chris, those look more like 'mixed' reviews than 'terrible' reviews, what's your deal?" Just like you don't read the New York Times for the latest on the Yankees, you don't read The Post for their theater reviews. So I'm striking the NYP review from the mix because I am selfish immature grudge holding a**hole it is an aberration proving that she stinks.

The New York Post described Danes' transformation from a poor, uneducated cockney flower girl into a society lady as "handsomely done," but The New York Times said her "game, conscientious portrayal doesn't make much of an impression." "Ms Danes works hard at maintaining audibility," wrote New York Times reviewer Ben Brantley. "But the effort pre-empts her relaxing into anything like spontaneous emotions ... And there's no fire in her final face-off with Henry."The

Chris, you seriously need to get a life, man.
I don't even read this site anymore now that it's become your own personal soap box.
I like Claire.
I liked her too, until she became a home-wrecking whore.
Whores get a big thumbs down in my book.
That's ok Doug, if you like whores, then Claire is right up your alley!
She was a beard for Ben Lee anyway. :-P
Who is this light-loafered douchebag with the Cupie Doll curl? And why is he walking ahead of Claire?
Doug, this site has always been our Editors' soap box. I, for one, am interested in Chris & Anna's opinions and appreciate all the BS&T they put into SPLASH.
They post and then they turn the soap box over to all of us, you included!
If we all agreed on everything and this was "SPLASH KUMBAYA" (gag!), I'd be taillights in the rear view mirror. :-)
BS&T = Blood, Sweat & Tears ;-)
Mmm for a moment I had her confused with Claire Forlani and was going to take umbrage at your bias but whatever.
Claire Danes is ok I guess... she was cute in Romeo + Juliet and I just saw her in Evening and she is like a tuning fork now but whatever... It takes a lot to come up with a new "self" every movie. Just ask Daniel Day Lewis.
Anyway, yeah, Claire Forlani on the other hand is frikken AWESOME! Omg. lol She's not only almost perfect looking but extremely talented as well. I
Claire's a goddess, perfect in every way.
LOL Urban, she's Mary Poppins? :-)
Is she still with Hugh Dancy. It's another beard gig if she is.
What goes around blah, blah.
Fair enough, Mike.
In that case I choose not to read.
Doug, you make some good posts here.
Take a little time off, if you like, and then come back. OK?
