Amy's Brother Speaks Out
2:51 Friday, November 16, 2007
Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has sent a message of love to her hubby in prison via a TV show.
Blake Fielder Civil is currently in custody at London's Pentonville Prison after being charged with perverting the course of justice and inflicting grievous bodily harm. Amy's brother Alex Winehouse appeared on the morning show GMTV and was asked by his little sister to pass a message on. He said: "She has a love for Blake. She said she wanted me to say that because he is watching so Amy loves you Blake."
Amy has been back in the headlines after being booed off stage at a gig in Birmingham following a shambolic performance. But Alex insisted that Amy was more in control than people give her credit for. The actor admitted Amy has suffered with an eating disorder and drug addiction but says she has an ability to give things up when she wants to. He said:
"A lot of what's written in the papers isn't necessarily what's happening. She is more in control than what people and the media give her credit for. I know with Amy she does still have self control and a voice in the back of her head saying calm down. When she was smoking too much marijuana she just said one day 'that's it I'm not going to do that again' and stopped. We know she does have that ability to say no".Alex says he has tried to help his troubled sister but says like any little sister she is unlikely to listen to her big brother. He said: "She's my sister. She wouldn't listen to me. It just ends up in an argument. She's naturally not going to listen to her brother and probably end up doing the opposite."

A real toss-up on who I would like to see much, much less of in the media....Amy Winehouse or the McCanns!
Her (and the McCann's) make me vomit. All this unforgivable disingenuous PR and hype over their own despicable behaviour.About time they all took responsibility for themselves and stopped blaming everyone else or "random" events.. blah blah blah...
I'm all for love but Amy/Blake seem to have a desperate unhealthy love for each other.
I agree with Puck, exactly. This generation is always ready to blame everyone else. They need to give their heads a shake and grow the eff up.
I have no sympathy for Winehouse at all. All that talent, just a waste. I can handle her freakish looks by listening to her sing, but all the other shit, makes me want to vomit.
Amy's brother on a morning show? Loser...just like his sister.
Amy, take some consolation in the fact your naaasty guy won't be in danger of becoming Bubba's bitch while in the joint.
:-P
BTW, my Uncle Wally went to prison just to get Cable TV. (it wasn't available in Appalachia) ;-)
Haven't we yet learned a lesson not to believe the Press. Only Amy's family and close friends know the truth but give the girl some due - she has a remarkable talent. I wish her all the best that she can get back on track and perform as she ought to. Just leave her alone.
