Johnny Depp: "Rictus Of Pain"

splashnews_spl13820_010.jpg
The immensely talented Johnny Depp has admitted that his daughter's medical crisis shows in his eyes during his astonishing performance in Sweeney Todd. Told that his face looked like a "rictus of pain" in the movie, Depp admited: "Yeah, it's horrible. I can't watch it." And he admits further that the "awful scare", with his eight-year-old daughter Lily-Rose being rushed to hospital, affected his performance. "You can't broom out your head," he said. "You certainly can't broom out your heart. And there's a hot wire between them, and everything shows in the eyes. So whatever you're feeling in your life, trying to avoid it is some kind of weird obstacle course that there's no way to win. So when it's there, it's there." Despite the drama and the dark nature of the movie he was making, he insists he had a wild time on set with director Tim Burton, Burton's actress wife Helena Bonham Carter, and Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen. "On the set, we laughed like absolute fools," Depp says. "It was a ball." Depp was talking to music magazine Rolling Stone, appearing on the cover with a black shirt ripped open showing a tattoo of his daughter's name above his heart. He told the magazine that "music will always be my first love" and he always assumed his future would be in a rock band. "I never wanted to be an actor," he said. "It just seemed like a good way to make easy money. I didn't care what the movies were. If they're going to pay me, fine." Pictures: Splash News

Ok, some mystery solved on why Sweeney Todd was such a snooze-fest. It took forever getting in and was a so-so movie altogether. I was disappointed cause I love me some Johnny. That's just my opinion though. Anyone else see it?

You have to like musicals to like Sweeney Todd. I think it helps tremendously to have children that you would do anything for. Then you can begin to relate to Sweeney Todd.

I love musicals, I truly don't think that has anything to do with it. I'm also a mother to a 5yr old son. As much as I love my Johnny, Tim Burton's work, I just didn't feel it. Have you seen it?
