A lovely afternoon pick-me-up: David Beckham with his hands firmly on his. . . oh my. The LA Galaxy attraction is pictured here covering up to defend a free kick. I like his stance-- perhaps he should do that more often. Now that's Man Candy of the very best kind.
I'm have to balance these photos out with some of a bikini-clad lady or at least some tasty shots of Saturday night goings-out. Got to keep things fair and square for you!

Abe Karpen, a Hasidic Jewish actor, had already started work on "New York I Love You" when he was forced to drop out from playing Natalie Portman's husband in the film. Karpen was receiving death threats from his community leaders, and the backlash had intensified so badly that his family was forced into hiding.
Karpen is a married father of three and usually a kitchen cabinet salesman, but he couldn't resist signing up for the opportunity to star alongside Portman in the 12-story film about New York City romance. Before fleeing (yes-- fleeing!) New York, he confirmed that "I am backing out of the movie."
"It's not acceptable in my community," he said of acting. "It's a lot of pressure I am getting. They [the rabbis] didn't like the idea of a Hasidic guy playing in Hollywood. I have my kids in religious schools and the rabbi called me over yesterday and said in order for me to keep my kids in the school I have to do what they tell me and back out."His friend Levi Okunov admitted that "The community wants to kill him." These celebrity portraits might stir up the art buff in you. Jason Mecier's portraits have been made from rubbish donated by the stars themselves, including Missy Elliot, the Scissor Sisters, and Donald Trump. They're so good and cartoonish that I thought you might like to have a look. . . and I'd also like to point out that Rosie O'Donnell's is made entirely out of food.
Jason Mercier is an internationally recognized mosaic artist and he actually solicits junk donations from the general public as well. Including used toothbrushes. Check it out here.

Mariah Carey hammed it up for us after her performance on Saturday Night Live whilst out on the street. The actress almost looked like she was posing in front of the mirror as she stopped in the New York streets to give us happy. . . coy. . . sexy. Everything would have been really complete if she had just been wearing one of her signature '90s stretch dresses! ;)
