This young man is called Conor Kelly, and his family were the lucky winners of a charity auction which involved David Beckham. His mother paid $7,000 to win the prize, which was supposed to be meeting Beckham for a birthday treat. The excuse given to the 9 year old soccer fanatic was that "there was a breach of security and David's not doing it".
The truth is, Victoria saw this photo of the boy and refused to have any child come near her family wearing just Adidas. He could at least have accessorised with a Gucci kitbag or an Armani jacket. Even Jimmy Choo slippers would suffice!
this is the ACTUAL quote from the beckham camp:
Beckham's representative said: "We were not made aware of this charity package until the [New York Post] called us.
"It's not the first time that we've had disreputable individuals sell packages to honest people claiming a meet and greet with David, having not spoken to him or anyone from his team to agree it.
"As you know, David does a lot of incredible work for charities and it would mortify him that these agencies dupe people in such a way. We don't condone it at all."
A spokesperson for the auction said: "It was never intended to promote on David alone. There were internal issues."
so whats the deal is every single person thats conned or can claim to be conned going to come out of the woodwork and will Beckham be blamed for all of them and expected to make good the conmens promises?
