Presidential hopeful Barack Obama has been called one of the "25 Coolest Brothers Of All Time" by Ebony Magazine. Other luminaries on the list included Jimi Hendrix and Lenny Kravitz, actors Sidney Poitier and Denzel Washington Jr, and boxer Muhammad Ali. The magazine had this to say about Obama: "That a Brother is running for president of the United States and being embraced by millions of people for who he is. That's cool. Even in the murk of politics Barack Obama genuinely loves his wife, his family and his country. Watching real love live; that's cool".

However, it is not just Barack Obama who has been winning accolades from magazines, fellow presidential hopeful, John McCain, was awarded "Best Knitted Sweater Wearer With A Grimace" by Sewing Monthly, which is a much coveted title.
