Lindsay Lohan has been celebrating turning the ripe old age of 22 in style. Splash spied the actress as she shopped with her girlfriend Samantha Ronson on a sunny afternoon yesterday. The duo had been hunting for diamonds at Cartier in Beverly Hills. Ooh la la.

But the fun and frolics didn't stop there, and later that evening Lindsay dazzled in a bright pink strapless micro-minidress and a chunky diamond necklace as she arrived at Teddy's lounge, inside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. It's believed the former AA member stayed off the booze for her 22nd birthday celebrations - instead getting her kicks from an intimate smooch with Ronson. 

According to People magazine, companion DJ Ronson took on the man's costume role by her side, donning black pants, a tuxedo shirt, bow tie and top hat with red trim. As the party was winding down in the small hours, onlookers said the couple sneaked in a small peck on the lips at the DJ booth, hoping no one was watching. 

Just after midnight, staff at Teddy's wheeled out a big pink-iced cake featuring a picture of Marilyn Monroe in her iconic wind-blown white dress. The entire lounge sang "Happy Birthday" and Lohan, who had stuck to Red Bull all night, obligingly blew out the candles. Her friends then chanted "speech, speech, speech," but the guest of honour replied jokingly, "Shut the f*** up."
