R&B singer Ashanti was named the Ambassador of Music for Nassau County as a part of Long Island's new tourism campaign called the "Island Next Door."

Seriously? The best they could come up with is Ashanti? The chick who used to roll with a group called "Murder Inc." and sang on "Mesmerize" by Ja-Rule which is probably one of the worst songs of all time?

Wow, I guess I'll be adding this to my list of reasons to not visit Long Island after "guidos" and "The Long Island Expressway."
