Actor Wesley Snipes, who is currently serving time in prison for tax fraud, has been given permission to leave the USA for filming purposes. He will be allowed to spend a few days in London and will be allowed to stay in Thailand for 8 weeks to shoot a film called "Chasing The Dragon". Federal judge William Terrell Hodges is the man giving the actor time out of the prison showers.
Oh well, this should help the public conception that celebrities are treated very leniently when it comes to crime right? What next? Tom Cruise found guilty of selling non-psychiatric drugs and given 2 hours community service? Mel Gibson setting fire to a temple and getting a $500 fine? If I ever go to prison I am going to ask for such leniency, "but Your Honor, the Splash News blog won't write itself, and I only stole 4 cars..."
