Hayden Panettiere's parents put on a united front by taking their dogs for a walk - just hours after the Heroes star's father was released from jail for allegedly hitting her mother. 

Alan and Lesley Panettiere braved a tide of photographers with a walk with their dogs near their West Hollywood home, confirming that everything was "peachy" with their relationship. It was just a few hours earlier that Alan, 49, was released from West Hollywood Police Station after posting a $50,000 bond.

When asked about the incident, Alan said: "It was all blown out of proportion and was really nothing." The domestic spat began after the couple arrived home from a benefit party hosted by their daughter for the Whaleman Foundation at Eva Longoria Parker's trendy restaurant Beso. 

Retired fire-fighter Alan is alleged to have struck Lesley three times on her right cheek with an open hand during the altercation (I can't see any marks, can you?). A sheriff's spokesperson has revealed that the pair's heated argument may have been the result of drinking to much alcohol at the glitzy benefit.
