Hunk Matthew McConaughey has revealed he plans to plant the placenta from the birth of his son. The kooky actor actor says he will use the afterbirth for feriliser in an orchard. He came up with the idea after visiting Australia, where aboriginal people have long performed the ritual. McConaughey said:
Alves had to deliver Levi Alves McConaughey by C-section despite the couple's plans for a natural birth. McConaughey told CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta: "It's going to be in the orchards and it's going to bear some wonderful fruit. When I was in Australia, they had a placenta tree that was on the river and all the placentas of all that tribe, all that clan, whatever aboriginal tribe that was, all the placentas went under that one tree and it was this huge behemoth of just health and strength. This tree was just growing taller and stronger above the rest of Mother Nature around it. It was gorgeous."
McConaughey and his model girlfriend Camila Alves welcomed their new baby, Levi Alves McConaughey on July 7. The new parents describe the birth of their son their 'best dance' ever.
"Yeah we did have a plan, but it didn't happen," "We had a plan, an ideal, that we would go in and do it as natural as possible. You see a woman just really digging deep into her soul, and bearing pain and being on top of that and you see a strength come out in a woman that you never have seen before. I saw a strength come out of her that I had never seen before. Then the baby comes out, his eyes were wide open, he was crying and glad to see the day, and then she was sewed up and that has all been fine in post."
Asked if he had any regrets at having to go through a C-section, McConaughey added: "No, absolutely not, it went down perfectly. "And even though we went 60-hours to do what could have been done in a few hours it was a great journey, for both of us. "Her and I have now gone through something that we call it 'the best dance' we have ever had. "We have gone through something that we are like 'I know and you know and only you and I know' and that is good for us."
