Ricky Gervais has treated himself to an apartment in New York, now he is doing so well on both sides of the pond. The British "Office" star has purchased a $1.7 million pad in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. It appears that the comedian fell in love with New York whilst filming his upcoming comedy release "Ghost Town". The building, which was once occupied by Grace Kelly amongst others, has a screening room, a library and a salon.

Gervais is currently busy making "Night At The Museum 2: Escape From The Smithsonian" which also features Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson and Hank Azaria.
