"Gladiator" star Russell Crowe has been talking about his new film, "Body Of Lies", and how he managed to put on 63 pounds to play the part. In the film, Crowe plays a CIA boss working with Leonardo DiCaprio's character. The "American Gangster" actor was asked if he used food or alcohol to bulk up, Crowe responded that he relied on food only, stating: "The drinking thing has sort of taken a different place in my life since I had kids". Crowe also mentioned how he helped rapper Snoop Dogg get a visa to enter Australia and also talked about working with British director and Madonna's husband, Guy Ritchie.
In our pictures, the 44 year old New Zealand/Australian actor looks healthy and athletic, smiling for the cameras last month even though the Rabbitohs (a Rugby League team Crowe owns) had just been beaten by the Roosters. "Body Of Lies", directed by Ridley Scott who also made "Blade Runner" and "Alien", is out in cinemas on October 10.

Apparently Ridley Scott enjoys working with Russell Crowe; and he likes to make movies that raise international awareness (i'm thinking Blackhawk Down and Kingdom of Heaven)... that's a good thing i'd say
