It seems Richard Carpenter, formerly half of The Carpenters, has decided to hurl himself back into the music business. Carpenter, who is 62 years old, enjoyed an incredible amount of fame in the 1970s and 1980s alongside his sister Karen Carpenter. Sadly, Karen died in 1983 from heart failure, leaving Richard to work alone. Carpenter announced at a press conference, which was held in Japan today, his birthday, what his plans were for his comeback.
Amongst Richard Carpenter's plans are the re-release of a Carpenters Christmas album, a tribute album featuring cover versions of Carpenters songs performed by artists from various countries and a book chronicling the amazing career that Karen and Richard had. Considering The Carpenters sold over 100 million albums and singles, it seems Richard can expect a surefire success with his new work.

I say good for him! He and his sister were great and very talented. No one had a voice like Karen Carpenter - she was truly great. If he sounds as good as he looks for his age, I cheer him on. Good music and nice voices never get too old.

Hi Richard:
Karen had the voice of an angel! We have nothing similar these days. While we don't want to try and duplicate her beautiful voice it would be nice to combine Richard's similar songwriting with a different type of voice. I hear Richard might be looking for a new singing partner? Please let me know more.

PLEASE CONTACT ME WOULD LOVE TO DISCUSS WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR. MY VOICE IS VERY SIMILAR TO KARENS BUT I DON'T TRY TO IMITATE HER, JUST BE MYSELF!
