Aviation officials have released air traffic control audio from the
plane crash involving Travis Barker and Adam Goldstein.
In the new tapes released by the FAA, co-pilot James Bland can be heard
asking the air traffic controller for clearance before the fatal
Learjet crash.
Former
Blink-182 drummer Barker, 32, and DJ AM, 35, were the only survivors
when their Learjet crashed while taking off from Columbia airport just
before midnight on September 19.
The plane's pilot, Sarah Lemmon, co-pilot James Bland, Barker's
assistant Chris Baker and bodyguard Charles Still were all pronounced
dead on the scene.
Since
the scare, DJ AM has revealed that his recent plane crash may have
saved his life.
While in a burns unit Adam Goldstein learned he had a potentially
lethal blood clot in his leg.
Goldstein said: "In the burn center, they did a scan and found that I
had a blood clot that in this flight could have traveled to my heart
and I could have died."

"In the new tapes released by the FAA, co-pilot James Bland can be heard asking the air traffic controller for clearance before the fatal Learjet crash."
It's good that this was heard on the tapes because HOW ELSE WOULD THEY GET CLEARANCE, IF NOT ON THE RADIO, moron? Fax machine?
What a fucking useless statement. Your headlines are bad enough but with this kind of journalistic insight I can see why you write on a celebrity blog.
what's the FAA supposed to release? A podcast? maybe send a telegram? how about smoke signals from the top of Chimney Rock in Sedona, Arizona? Im sure all the newspapers, TV stations, and investigators would be able to sort out that two rings of smoke means "plane crash" while three rings of smoke means "I'm sorry to tell you this but you have pancreatic cancer and have two months to live."
idiot.
