Heidi Klum throws a huge Halloween party every year and this year was
no different. The event, held at trendy New York hot spot 1 Oak, was
attended by husband Seal, rocker Pink, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, and
Cash Warren to name a few but it is the Victoria's Secret model's
costume of Hindu Goddess Kaali that is attracting all the attention.
Hindu's are rather upset with the German supermodel calling her costume
"denigrating."
What do you think?
"Goddess Kali is highly revered in Hinduism and she is meant to be worshipped in temples and not to be used in clubs for publicity stunts or thrown around loosely for dramatic effects," Contactmusic quoted Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed as saying. While I think Klum did an amazing job on her costume, I can see why people would think it is offensive. Then again, people dress up as Jesus all the time.
He added: "Hindus welcome Hollywood and other entertainment industries to immerse themselves in Hinduism, but they should take it seriously and respectfully, and not just use the religion for decoration or to advance their selfish agenda. Casual flirting sometimes results in pillaging serious spiritual doctrines and revered symbols and hurting the devotees."
What do you think?

What do I think, you ask? I think that clinging to Bronze Age mythology about invisible entities, ie religion is a ridiculous concept in the 21st century and it's these beliefs that are the root cause of most problems in this world and are what have held humanity back from achieving what we are capable of.
All religions are stupid but Hunduism occupies a special place in that pantheon of idiocy. People who think they are descended from gods? Statues that give milk? Well-fed animals wandering amongst starving humans? Suttee? The Caste System? "Sacred" rivers where people dispose of their honey buckets and their dead relatives? A god with a human body and a transplanted elephant head?
Denigrating, you say? Not more than the Hindu "religion" itself.
Jig a boo want some watermelon?
wait a minute.... if during an Islamic or Induist holiday someone would dress like Jesus on the Cross (with a Cross on his back) or as Mary with little Jesus .... I'm sure Pope will notice it and would be very angry.
I'm not religious at all, so I'm not offended in any case, but it's just a matter of culture respect. Simply respect. You don't need to dress like a God during Halloween ... or maybe yes?
If Kali was in fashion...it'd be Heidi Klum. I am a follower Kali and a Hindu and think Heidi looks amazing in the outfit and the elaborate preperations add a great touch to the look. Go Kali-Go Heidi!
the costume may be disrespectful to my kind but it definitely is hot. i think she rocks ass as kali matha. i would've chosen durga matha to avoid the blue goo, but what ever rocks her world. i hope she has the opportunity to put in her words before the hindu community blows their tops.
