The legendary film, The Karate Kid, which starred Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita, like many great 80's movies, is being remade. The updated version is being produced by Jerry Weintraub, who was behind the original 1984 smash hit and will star Will Smith's son 10-year-old son Jaden in the lead role.

The plot about a bullied teen learning to stand up for himself will stay the same but with filming locations in Beijing, China and other Asian countries expect a much more exotic backdrop.

Jaden previously starred alongside his father in The Pursuit of Happyness.
