Gwyneth Paltrow Is "Desperately Trying To Save Her Marriage"

Gwyneth Paltrow is "desperately trying to save her marriage", it was claimed today. The Oscar-winning actress is said to be holed up at her London home with rocker husband Chris Martin in a bid to iron out their differences, according to US reports. A friend of the couple said: "[They are] trying to make their marriage better. She's staying overseas [in the UK] until the holidays are over."
The Shakespeare in Love star is planning to shun the third annual Food Bank Lunchbox Auction bash in Manhattan tonight, which she normally hosts with celebrity chef pal, Mario Batali. A spokesperson for the charity fundraiser was unavailable for comment.
The New York Daily News reported, "Gwyneth Paltrow is "desperately trying to save her troubled marriage." Although a friend told the publication, "Gwyneth says she's totally fine. She's used the phrase 'perfectly happy' a bunch of times, and refuses to read any of the tabloid tales to the contrary."
Meanwhile Paltrow's pal Madonna has been blamed for influencing the actress's decisions. An insider said: "Gwyneth has the Madonna bug, bad. It's eerie. Gwyneth acts normally until Madonna comes around, and then Gwyn is all about Madonna, all the time. Madge has even introduced Gwyneth to all her friends. Now instead of going to see Chris perform, she'd rather hang out with people like Alex Rodriguez and Ingrid Casares."
Paltrow, 36, wed Coldplay frontman Martin, in 2003. They have two children together - daughter Apple, four, and son Moses, two. A representative for Paltrow told the New York Daily News that claims of Madonna's influence were "complete nonsense."
