Jennifer Aniston beat out Brad Pitt yesterday. Her film Marley & Me edged out The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which made just $11.8 million to Marley's $14.8. Now Jennifer Aniston has something to smile about through New Year celebrations, because the film made headlines as the highest one-day total of a movie to open on Christmas!
There were several other strong performers yesterday, such as Bedtime Stories and Valkyrie, but one film that lagged noticeably behind the others was Spirit starring Eva Mendes and Scarlett Johansson: it grossed just $4 million on its opening day!
Do you think Brad will be peeved that Jennifer shot ahead?

Expect the wrath of the Brangeloonies!!!!
Could it be that people are actually tired of this happy family charade?
Not an Aniston fan...but I don't think Brad will care because the BB crowds were huge. So I think most flicks will do well; saw 4 (not Marley, not yet) this week and so far, only Slumdog Millionaire impressed. Still on the agenda is:Doubt, Defiance, Revolutionary Rd. and Marley which is also my grandpuppy's name).
The Jenfans are so funny. They are scary happy over just one day. Benjamin Button could still win the weekend and/or have a bigger lifetime gross. It's kind of sad that they haven't moved on and need the smallest victory over Brad and Angelina. They also think it doesn't matter that Marley & Me was in 500 more theatres than Benjamin Button.
Who CARES about Jen and her movies........disgusting actress who needs to move on with her life and let go of the past....Should never bring children names into adults conflicts.
Louise????You must be a Brangaloonie..Im a Jen fan, used to be a Brad fan, I was never an Angie fan...Your absolutely right that in the long run Brads movie may do better. but its still great for Jen that she got the xmas totals, I saw the movie, it was wonderful..I may still see Brads, only because it sounds very interesting, not because he is in it.
