Kate Winslet scored a double whammy at Sunday's Golden Globes in Los Angeles - taking home the Best Actress award for Revolutionary Road and also winning Best Supporting Actress for The Reader.
A tearful and emotional Kate asked: "Is this really happening?" as she
got on stage to collect her second prize. Earlier the star, who had
failed to win a Globe despite being nominated a previous five times,
said: "I have a habit of not winning things. I'm in shock. To my
children who are watching on TV - look, I won! Thank you so much!"
Her Revolutionary Road
co-star Leonardo DiCaprio could be seen blowing her a kiss from their
table as she made her acceptance speech for the Best Actress award.
Meanwhile, Slumdog Millionaire
was named Best Drama, one of four awards British director Danny Boyle's
Mumbai-set movie received. Heath Ledger landed a posthumous supporting
actor prize for the latest Batman flick, The Dark Knight, while Mickey Rourke was named best actor in a drama for his portrayal of a washed-up fighter in The Wrestler.
Tom Wilkinson was named Best Supporting Actor in a series, mini-series or TV film for John Adams
for his role as "Benjamin Franklin." And Irish star Colin Farrell was
named Best Actor in a musical or comedy for his role as a hit man in
the black comedy In Bruges.
But films Doubt, Frost/Nixon and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, all missed out on awards, despite having had five nominations each.

Mickey Rourke was great in The Wrestler, maybe too good... i guess that's why he deserves the Golden Globe
