Sickening court documents reveal how the delusional and obsessive fan plagued Hewitt with more than 120 violent and sexually explicit letters. The disturbing documents included fantasies about seeing Hewitt impaled and her former fiancé Ross McCall with his head blown off. 

In her petition for the restraining order Hewitt told a judge how her terrifying ordeal escalated when the 6' tall Nolte sold his home in Colorado and moved to California to be closer to her. The last straw came when Nolte attempted to make physical contact with the actress on December 21 at the home of her mother, Patricia, in Los Angeles. 

"On December 21, 2008 at approximately 1.30pm I was inside my mother's home when I saw a man drive up to the house and park on the street in front of the house and step out of the car. Based upon photographs I have seen I immediately recognised the man as Mr Nolte.

Mr Nolte rang the electronic bell at the gate for approximately three minutes before leaving flowers and other objects at the gate. I was terrified when I saw Mr. Nolte, because he has sent me threatening letters describing his sexual and violent fantasies that involve me, and at times my fiancé, and seeing him at my mother's house made me fear for my physical safety." 

According to the papers Nolte began sending disturbing letters to Hewitt care of her management company in New York in October 2007. In the letters Nolte described sexual encounters he fantasised about having with Hewitt as well as violent threats against her fiancé, including references to weapons he owned and his knowledge of her personal security. 

In a letter dated January 5, 2008 Nolte states: "When I read the announcement of Your engagement to Ross it was like a stake in my heart. I said that I trusted you to tell me if you were with someone else. You did that with painful precision." Nolte claimed in the letters that he received "signs from God" and violent visions about Hewitt's fiancé. In a letter dated May 8, 2008 he states: "I saw a sign in the clouds. I know God put it there. It lasted 15 minutes. It was a man's face and upper torso. I think it was Ross. His expression was innocent. Around him were several evil beings. The top of his head was gone, blown away from above his eyes." 

Nolte's correspondence also threatened the actress herself. A letter dated May 21, 2008 states: "I am not the man you cast as evil. Never, in my whole life have I shed crocodile tears. How about you? Jennifer, you are living on borrowed time."

According to the papers Nolte repeatedly asked Hewitt to marry him and envisioned them moving to Australia to raise a family. In an alarming letter dated November 2008, Nolte sent Hewitt itinerary for a trip he had booked to Sidney. According to the itinerary, in addition to a buying a seat for himself, Nolte purchased a second seat booked in the name of Ms. Hewitt. 

Hewitt's lawyer Jordan Susman stated in the request for the restraining order: "Defendant's conduct in sending threatening and disturbing letters has been pervasive and continuous and has escalated to physical stalking." The order of protection granted by the Los Angeles judge is good for three years and also includes Hewitt's mother and Ross McCall.
