Carrie Underwood was the star of the show during the 44th Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The former American Idol'er scooped up two awards, one for Female Vocalist of the Year and another for Entertainer of the Year which is the granddaddy of them all.

"I've had a lot of good moments in the past four years," the Oklahoma-born Underwood said at the climax of the three-hour event at the MGM Grand Arena, "but this one takes the cake."

The Entertainer of the Year award is voted on by the fans and the "I Told You So" singer beat out such legendary Country & Western stars as Kenny Chesney, Keth Urban, and George Strait.
