Dennis Quaid looked like he narrowly avoided a DUI last night. The Inner Space star was leaving restaurant Phillipe Chows after attending the premiere of One Peace at a Time and partying with the Kardashian sisters, when he hopped behind the wheel of his Cadillac Escalade.

Before he was able to pull out of the parking lot, a police car rolled up next to him and asked him to "step out of the car."

Quaid can be heard (very faintly) saying that he "didn't want to drive" all the while the paparazzi are yelling "Don't be like Mel Gibson," and "No DUI's for Dennis."

The Quaids smartly got out of the car and went back in the restaurant to call a cab.

Dennis got off real lucky if the police thought he had too much to drink because you can get slapped with a DUI for having the keys in the ignition.
