Jon Gosselin wants to clear a path for him in heaven.

The train wreck & father of eight was trying to find his road to redemption on Sunday in a very public open dialogue with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach at NYCs West Side Jewish Center.  

He says:  "I think I'm just misunderstood.  I'm not a fame seeker.  Everyday I look in the mirror and wonder [why I'm famous].  I don't sing. I don't dance.  I'm not a Nobel Peace Prize winner.  I just had eight kids and I had a show on TLC."

Gosselin openly discussed his divorce from Kate and how he became intoxicated with celebrity and fame.  

Gosselin also acknowledged his bad-boy behavior.  "Half the stuff I've done, if I look at my moral compass, I shouldn't have done.  I know that but I did it anyway.  It's like fame canceled out conviction."

As far as apologizing to the ex, he says he'd rather do that in private.

This guy is a major contradiction in terms.  Here's an idea:  If you want to stay out of the public eye, don't be photographed in public, you moron!
