As the midnight hour was close at hand terror struck Paris Hilton and boyfriend Doug Reinhardt.

The evening started on a more angelic note when PHil and Dougie Do were at Heidi Klum's Halloween party, they then left and headed over to The Roosevelt and that's when our photographer says things took a sinister turn.

As the photog and crew followed the on-again / off-again pair they saw that a fight broke out in the limo when Doug threw P's cell phone at the window!

Oh, no he didn't!  

Then, the car stopped and P and pal climbed out of the car in search of the lost phone.  Think about it, if that phone got in the wrong hands, all hell could break loose and the ghosts of the past could come back to haunt her!

Once P got back in the car, she started screaming at Dougie and slapping at him.  Her friend tried to shield the fighting duo from the all-seeing-eye of the paps, but it was too late.

Dougie has some serious splainin' to do!
