A very fit and thin Ashlee Simpson was spotted yesterday in NYC after having a late lunch before heading off to the recording studio to work on some new material. Ashlee recently said she always felt like an "ugly duckling" next to sister Jessica and yeah I would have agreed with that statement in the past but now that she got her nose did, lost a few pounds and Jessica's career seems to be circling the toilet, Ashlee is definitely the prettier of the two.

Joe Simpson's is "adamant" that his daughters, Jessica and Ashlee, will NEVER end up in rehab like Britney Spears.

"I would never let that happen to my daughters. Hopefully, her family will take care of the situation."

His daughters may not go to rehab because of the tight leash he has on them but I'm not ruling out therapy. I'm betting there are a lot of repressed memories involving their dad and his creepy obsession with their bodies and sexuality that these girls are going to need help dealing with. Jessica Simpson looked a little on the glum side as she shopped with her sister Ashlee yesterday. The pair spent the afternoon at the popular Barney's Of New York in Beverly Hills. Perhaps Jessica was fed up with herself, for choosing to leave the house in a red baggy patchwork shirt. Come on Jessica, if you're going to keep up with your hotter younger sister, you've got to do better than that!
