"Beautiful" singer Christina Aquilera is set to make her big screen debut in a musical called "Burlesque" to be directed by "Erin Brockovich" director Susannah Grant.
That means she'll be in good hands since Grant directed Julia Roberts to an Oscar win.
Aquilera plays a small town girl who finds success at a neo-burlesque club in Los Angeles.
Christina also has some news with her day job...singing.
Aguilera hasn't released a solo album since "Back to Basics" in 2006 and her fourth album is due for release later this year.

Christina Aguilera headed out with a gleam in her eye for a major shopping sesh this weekend, and from the looks of it, she needed some new lingerie from Agent Provocateur in West Hollywood! The stunning singer wasn't embarrassed to grab the frilly bits while the paps snapped-- good for her -- and was rocking an Alice in Wonderland look with a necklace that spelled out her son Max's name.

Adorable Max Liron went out with mom Christina Aguilera and dad Jordan Bratman on a trip to Fred Segal in West Hollywood this weekend, and we have a feeling they bought a lot! The little family unit was spotted emerging from the shop at dark with Jordan toting his wife's stuff-- and little Max looked exhausted after his big day out.
On a fashion-related note, all kids should wear cute hats! These pics of Max have convinced me.

Christina Aguilera worn her comfiest boots and lumberjack shirt to head to Barney's New York this weekend, where she most likely picked up a few last-minute Hanukkah gifts before sundown along with surprise X-Mas stuff for later on this week. With her family doing both celebrations this year, Christina's going to be showering hubby Jordan and little Max with double the gifts.
Check out Christina's full outfit in the photos after the jump, in which I daresay she took a few style clues from Lindsay Lohan.

Christina Aguilera draped herself in a jazzy maxi dress to spritz the public with her newest scent: "Inspire" at the Glendale Galleria in Glendale, California. This newest fragrance promises to be fruity, but after coming straight off of
Paris Hilton's "serious" scent, it's going to be hard to keep things straight. This one will be a concoction of citrus, mango, and freesia, and it'll also have some floral elements and sandalwood, too.
Aguilera
dished to OK! that she's hoping to build up her family from just little baby Max, saying
"We definitely want to have another child. Having Max has been an amazing experience. He surprises me every day."
