Fortunately, the cat had a stunt double
Eddie Murphy's new film has the 47 year old actor climbing trees to rescue cats. In this scene, the cat jumps (with a "gentle" push from an assistant director no doubt) on to Eddie's character making him fall off the ladder. Murphy's new film is called "A Thousand Words", about a man who has 1,000 words left to speak before he dies.
I can see Eddie's disappointed face now when the director shouted "Eddie there is some hot pussy that needs rescuing at the top of that ladder". Murphy probably thought he was climbing into a sorority house.

As Eddie Murphy arrived all in black at Mr Chows in Beverly Hills I couldn't help but think, what's missing from this picture? Then it dawned on me. A push chair and a daughter. Shmuck.

Eddie Murphy and his first wife, Nicole Mitchell Murphy have sold their Granite Bay vacation home, for a phenomenal $6.1 million.
The luxurious property, which was purchased in 1998, has an impressive 11,000-square-foot main house and nearby guesthouse had served as a vacation spot for the couple, who finalized their divorce in 2006.
The home which boasts views of the Folsom Lake has 10 bedrooms, a tennis court, a gym, an infinity pool, a spa and an outdoor kitchen complete with barbecue.
Murphy, 46, and former wife Nicole Mitchell Murphy, 40 were married for 12 years have five children together.
Reports also claim that Nicole Mitchell Murphy is also looking to sell her six bedroom, 9,200 square-foot, Calabasas home for just under $10 million.

Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds two minute relationship broke because she refused to sign a pre nuptial agreement.
According to Page Six, the elaborate ceremony wasn't enough to for his ex fiancee and she wanted alot more than to say I do!
The couple "married" on New Year's Day on the South Pacific island of Bora Bora, but the marriage was not legally binding because they had not lived on the island for more than 30 days beforehand. Eddie and Tracey were due to make the marriage official upon their return to the US, but dramatically scrapped the plans, saying they had "decided to remain friends."
Now sources close to the Tracey are saying that the couple's relationship faltered over finances.
"When it came down to the legal marriage, Tracey wouldn't sign a prenup,"
As yet there has been no comment from Eddie's spokesperson.

Mel B looked very happy when greeted by lots of fans last night, as she and lawyer Gloria Allred appeared on the Larry King show. She attended the show to talk about her battle with Eddie Murphy over the pair's daughter Angel Iris, and her secret wedding to film producer, Stephen Belafonte, at a drive-thru Las Vegas wedding chapel.
The comeback Spice Girl told Larry that her baby daughter Angel Iris will never call new hubby Stephen dad, "Angel has one father and that is Eddie Murphy", but she hopes to one day have kids with Belafonte. Mel repeated her claim that she planned the pregnancy with Murphy - something he denied in a statement to the show.
The statement read: "Eddie Murphy always has and will continue to honor his responsibilities as a father. Mr Murphy and Ms Brown dated very briefly and never made any plans of any sort. Mel firmly disputed this saying, "Our relationship may have been brief but it was intense and very much in love and wanting to have a family together, that's that. We are both tattooed. You don't tattoo someone's name on your body if its brief and unimportant, put it that way."

After months of denying that he's the father of Spice Girl Melanie Brown's daughter, Angel Iris Murphy Brown, Eddie Murphy has officially been named the father from the results of a paternity test he took on June 11th.
You may remember that Murphy dumped Mel B during an interview and then publicly denied the possibility that he could be the father.
Distraught by the potential ratings such a high profile paternity dispute could have brought him, Maury Povich is being consoled in his green room by a pregnant trailer dwelling legless cancer surviving aspiring stripper who doesn't know who her baby daddy is because she's too busy rebelling against her mother.
