Helen Mirren, even at 62, is hot enough that she gets to talk about the "sex symbol" thing, even though it is in retrospect. This self-proclaimed "incredibly serious Shakespearean actress" dished to
More magazine that the whole "being sexy" thing can be a real pain:
"Sexuality for girls is so complex and tricky. I was never beautiful, but as a young woman, beautiful or not is sort of irrelevant. Being a sexual object is mortifying and irritating, yet it's giving you power-an awful power that you've done nothing to deserve, a powerless power. I think some young women fall in love with that power, and it's really objectifying. And when it starts falling away, it's an incredible relief."
Helen also spoke about looking good for the cameras ("You've got to try and look good. It's your job") and the fact that she still doesn't consider herself a big star, "not like Tom Cruise," anyway.

Heidi Klum was certainly the leading lady in red at last nights star studded 80th Annual Academy Awards. But, as the model strutted in her gorgeous Galliano dress, photographers found she wasn't the only actress who had chosen the vibrant show stopping color. Anne Hathaway, Helen Mirren, Katherine Heigl and Miley Cryus also wowed the crowd with a selection of one strapped dresses, delicately wrapped up waists, luscious lipsticks, and modest cleavages.
Earlier Heidi had told the waiting media she wouldn't let her kids hug her before the Oscars, because she didn't want string cheese all over her dress. Heidi said, "I had to hold them a little bit because Leni was eating string cheese and I was like, 'No, no, no, I cannot have string cheese fingerprints all over me before we do this red carpet.'" Meanwhile hubby Seal, said he had been left breathless when Heidi made her way down their staircase.
Katherine Heigl also spoke out with her red carpet concerns, as she asked Entertainment host Ryan Seacrest if her bright red lipstick had rubbed off on her teeth. Ryan then tried to cheer her up by presenting her with a china plate featuring a picture of him as a late wedding present. He said: "If you want to take that home you can serve Caesar salad on it.

It's no big surprise that Helen Mirren scooped up best actress at this year's BAFTAs...I'm sure that award will get another one called Oscar to keep it company on her mantelpiece in a couple of weeks. Mirren looks stunning as always - is it creepy that I think she's hot? If so, I should confess now that I'd hit up Sophia Loren too.
More pics after the jump!
