Kate Beckinsale is reportedly set to lose out on the lead role in a remake of 1968 film Barbarella.
The 35-year-old was said to be the favourite to take the main part in the film but it is now claimed rival actress Rose McGowan is likely to be given the part.
A source said:
"It seemed Kate had got the part but nothing was signed and sealed. Now the word is she's going to lose out to Rose. The film is expected to be a big commercial hit so it will be a real blow for Kate."
The role was originally played by Jane Fonda in the original sci-fi film...Hollywood has officially run out of ideas.

Kate Beckinsale attended the Calvin Klein event during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City and if I'm not mistaken, looks like she's fashioned that dress out of the super-sexy leather costume she wore in the Underworld movie trilogy.
If that's a CK dress, stores should expect increase in visits from people with a Vampire and/or leather fetish.

Great news for all of you Kate Beckinsale and vampire fans/fetishists, the one-piece black leather suit that the stunning British babe wore in the
Underworld trilogy is headed to auction.
The skin-tight sexy suit worn by "Selene" in the horror movie series is going to be auctioned off ahead of the trilogy's final installment,
Underworld: Rise of the Lycans which hits theaters worldwide on January 23rd. To make the role playing scenario complete, several other props from the three flims, including a
medical book, a
serum vial, and a
serum injector are also up for bidding.
The live auction takes place n Saturday, February 7 at Premiere Props in El Segundo, California at 11AM, with online bidding taking place on
iCollector.com.

Nothing like a little holiday shopping, especially when you look like Kate Beckinsale here on Robertson Boulevard! Wearing high leather boots and an undercover tan trenchcoat, Kate popped into a hair stylist and a bevy of shops with the paparazzi trailing behind.
Kate's been getting some other Hollywood ladies by proclaiming that her life is a "modern-day fairy tale," in which her daughter gets along well with both her dad and stepdad. Sigh, if only things were that easy for the rest of Tinsel Town!
