Mariah Carey knows why people call her a diva...
"Because I am a diva! So friggin' what? Who cares? Everybody is a diva today, you
can't get anywhere without: 'Oh, the newest diva on the block...' Who
cares?"
The 40-year-old star goes on to say she doesn't think her demands are all that unreasonable.
"If they're in the entertainment industry? Hell no. Because everybody does the same stuff, most people are way more 'diva-ish'."
At least Mariah, who showed up an hour late to two recent promotional appearances in London, knows who she is!

What does
Mariah Carey request on her rider?
We suppose a better question is what
doesn't she request!
The superstar singer demanded 20 white kittens, 100 white doves and 80 security guards for an appearance at the Westfield shopping center in West London.
Mimi wanted to be driven on a pink carpet in Rolls-Royce up to a pink podium where she would wave a wand to turn the lights on.
A source said that the car had to be changed six times before Carey was satisfied.
Also on the list?
Confetti shaped like butterflies that would be poured over her at the end of the lighting ceremony.

Mariah Carey shoot a music video in a bathingsuit at the beach in November!
We spotted the singer striking a pose or two in Malibu in a white one piece and lots of cleavage yesterday.
She wasn't fully covered of course.
The suit was cut out in all the right places allowing the beach babe to show just enough skin.

15 years after she released the smash hit, "All I Want For Christmas Is You,"
Mariah Carey wants to releases another Christmas record. Mariah recorded the legendary holiday tune back in 1994 under pressure from
Tommy Mottola.
"It was Tommy's idea. And I was like all: 'Please, I'm a young girl. People don't do Christmas albums until they are, like, 50. Some sort of last resort.'
But he insisted: 'No, no. Do it. It'll be a big hit.' So I did and it was, and I'll always be grateful."
Mimi is hoping to recapture that Christmas magic and will have her mother, a former opera singer and vocal coah, sing on the track with her.
