2009 Academy Awards: Amy Adams

Doubt
star Amy Adams hit a double whammy of bad luck last night; not only did she miss out on Oscar glory for Best Supporting Actress to Vicky Christina Barcelona star Penelope Cruz, she hit the red carpet in this strapless gothic red dress, by Caroline Herrera.

Plus her beaded Roberto Cavalli choker did little to take our eyes from the red hair, the red dress and the red carpet!

What do you think, Amy's dress 'Yea Or Nay'?

2009 Academy Awards: Jessica Biel

Beyonce's dress was pretty ugly but at least it was flattering to her figure. Jessica Biel's Prada dress on the other hand, hides the gorgeous body that she works so hard to keep!

Was this Justin Timberlake's idea? Did he make her where something so unflattering because he wasn't going to be on the Academy Awards red carpet to keep an eye on her?

That's the only reasonable explanation I can come up with to explain that dress.

Note: The people behind her too!

2009 Academy Awards: Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman certainly is pretty in pink! The V for Vendetta star looked absolutely stunning on the red carpet for the 2009 Academy Awards held at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.

Although she wasn't up for any awards, the 27-year-old actress gets our award for Most Environmentally conscious with her Stella McCartney vegan-friendly shoes. Her dress is made by Rodate and she accented her gorgeous ensemble with Kwiat jewels and a vintage Rialto handbag.

Plus film beauty Natalie Portman presented an Academy Award for Best Cinematographer along side comedian Ben Stiller, who had the Oscars crowd in stitches as he poked fun at Joaquin Phoenix.

2009 Academy Awards: Penelope Cruz

Congratulations to Penelope Cruz! The stunning Spanish star won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona. The 34-year-old Cruz also rocked the red carpet in a 60-year-old vintage Balmain dress that actually looks more suited for a wedding than an award show.

More Pictures To Come!

But what do you think?

2009 Academy Awards: Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, two of the most sought after celebrities in the world, did not disappoint at the 2009 Academy Awards. The Changeling star may not have won the award for Best Actress but Jolie looked amazing in her all black Ellie Saab dreas.

Partner Brad Pitt, who also didn't win for his role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button looked just as dashing in his Tom For tuxedo.

Kate Winslet Wins Best Actress

It's the year of Kate Winslet as she continues her Titanic haul of awards by winning the Academy Award as best actress in The Reader.

Kate Winslet's beauty and popularity are like Eternal Sunshine. The actress joined Hollywood royalty by combining an epic talent, with a Tom Hanks-like across the board appeal and a glamor that defies the industry's size standard.

In her sixth nomination, the Heavenly Creature finally won that elusive Oscar and avoided tying the record for actresses with the most nominations without a win.

Winslet is clearly on a Revolutionary Road to legendary Hollywood status. Kate became the youngest actress to receive six Oscar nominations. In winning the Oscar, Winslet beat out the most nominated actor or actress of all-time in Meryl Streep.

Winslet's won not only the Oscar, but also two Golden Globes, a BAFTA, a Screen Actors Guild award and a Critic's Choice award.
